For children grieving the death of a family member or friend. There are some special workshops in the spring for children who have lost a mother, father or sibling. Participants in this workshop will learn how to use a journal creatively to express their thoughts and feelings, as they grieve the loss of a loved one. The support of the facilitators and fellow participants will help them in this process. Journals and other materials will be provided. |

Home Alone/Home Safety |

This course is designed for children ages nine to eleven years old who are unattended at home for short periods of time. Children learn telephone and door answering techniques, accident and fire prevention, and first aid skills. The class includes a variety of teaching methods, including active discussion, a video and role playing. Snacks are provided.This class is sponsored by Wayland Park and Recreation and Parmenter Community Health Care. |

Parmenters Wayside Hospice offers an 8 week bereavement support group. The aim of this bereavement group is to provide a safe place for you to talk about your loss with others who are also grieving, and hopefully to provide you support in the process of healing. |
