The Parmenter Foundation is committed to continuing a legacy of caring and excellence in our communities. We are honored to be in a position to take care of communities and take care of people. We want to encourage our neighbors to get involved as volunteers and as donors. The Foundation is growing funds - through grants and the generous support of individuals, organizations and the business community - to offset unfunded care services and support new community initiatives that leverage Parmenter’s strengths and strengthens communities. Camp Erin® Boston, is a FREE weekend overnight camp for children and teens ages 6 through 17 who have experienced the death of someone close to them. This three-day, two-night experience will be filled with traditional and fun camp activities combined with grief education and emotional support and will be facilitated by bereavement professionals and trained volunteers.

Camp Erin® Boston, will be held next August, 2014.

Together with The Moyer Foundation, Parmenter is serving as the Boston area Camp Erin® provider. We are committed to help bring the healing experience of Camp Erin® Boston to children each year. Parmenter Community Health Care has been a leader in Children's Bereavement Services since 1992 with its award-winning HEART play  program.

Parmenter’s Advance Care Planning Initiative seeks to improve the honoring of wishes for care at end-of-life through outreach and engagement with residents, organizations, faith communities, senior support systems, and healthcare providers across the core communities of Sudbury, Wayland and Weston with the goal of creating a model for broader outreach.

Parmenter nurses have worked with many families who were forced to decide what loved ones would have wanted when they could no longer make decisions. With Advance Care Directives in place, families are spared that burden and wishes are more likely to be honored.

Advance care planning is a process. It takes time. It requires an understanding of care options, intimate conversation, quiet reflection and thoughtful choices. When this process is undertaken and results in a written plan - most commonly known as Advance Care Directives - and is shared with loved ones and healthcare providers, choices for care are more likely to be honored, stress is reduced and, ultimately, health care is delivered more effectively. We can help. Learn more.

About the Foundation
The new foundation based in Sudbury was inspired by a $5.5 million bequest from a long-time supporter, Joan S. Batchelder.  The foundation was established in 2012 with a focus on developing new and innovative community health programs and ensuring that Parmenter Community Health Care remains strong and moving forward. Excited about the new foundation and the opportunities it affords to Parmenter and the local residents, Executive Director Cindy Mayher took the helm after serving as CEO of Parmenter Community Health Care for 23 years.
