December 30, 2011 — Make A New Years Resolution To Support The Wayland Food Pantry
(Wayland) The New Year is upon us and it is time to consider our resolutions for 2012. How about considering supporting Parmenters Wayland Food Pantry? There are several ways to support the Food Pantry, such as pick up some extra groceries when shopping and writing a donation check. Some local residents have come up with a new way of spreading good will-donations instead of presents.
For those of us who are no longer kids, we often want to celebrate special occasions for the joy of the celebration, not for the gifts. Gift giving can be awkward. What do you buy? How do you gracefully return unwanted gifts?
Well a local family decided, instead, to celebrate their very important wedding anniversary by having a party and requesting no gifts, but instead for party attendees to bring food items for the Food Pantry. We thank the generous party goers for their food items and checks. Making ends meet in this economy continues to be challenging for many local residents and contributions to Waylands Food Pantry at Parmenter help those who may be struggling. Residents needing Food Pantry assistance are encouraged to contact Laurie at 508-358-0028.
Please drop food items and donations off at Parmenter Community Health Care at 266 Cochituate Road in Wayland. Parmenter is the local nonprofit provider of home health nursing, rehabilitation therapies, palliative care, hospice care, and community services.
