July 21, 2009 — Parmenter Teams Up with Sudbury Valley Trustees at Wolbach Farm
Parmenter nurses and physical therapists have teamed up with the Sudbury Valley Trustees to adapt the Wolbach Farm Interpretive Trail as a Health Walk. The three-quarter mile Main Loop takes walkers along the Winter Brook stream corridor, across wetlands and through woodlands. At each of the 8 trail markers, walkers pause to read about and observe the vegetation and land.
Now, trailblazers can transform their walk into a Health Walk by pausing to do simple exercises at each marker as outlined in the new Health Walk insert.
The Health Walk insert can be found tucked inside the Wolbach Farm Interpretive Trail brochures located at the trail head or at the SVT offices located at 18 Wolbach Road off Route 27 in Sudbury. Learn more at www.svtweb.org.
April 09, 2009 — Permanent Food Pantry Collection Site Whole Foods Market in Wayland
Whole Foods Market in Wayland continues its support of Parmenter's Wayland Food Pantry with the establishment of a food collection site near the entrance of the store located at 317 Boston Post (Route 20) in Wayland. Donations of canned goods and dry goods are welcome throughout the year.
March 12, 2009 — Parmenter's Wayside Hospice Offers Tours
(Wayland, MA) Parmenter Community Health Care invites the community to tour the Miriam Boyd Parlin Hospice Residence . These free public 30-minute tours will be held on March 12 and March 19 at 11:00a.m. Staff will be available to answer questions.
Parmenter's Wayside Hospice program provides Hospice Care at this Hospice Residence or wherever the patient calls home.

March 05, 2009 — A Jewel in Our Own Backyards, a letter to the editors of the Wayland and Sudbury Town Crier
TO THE EDITOR I feel that every once in a while it is important to remind the community how fortunate we are to have a very special resource in our midst: The Miriam Boyd Parlin Hospice Residence. Located in Wayland, the Parlin Hospice Residence is one of only eight such resources in the State of Massachusetts. It is a beautiful, home-like environment that provides hospice care to individuals and their families when hospice care at home is not an option.
The Parlin Hospice Residence is small -- only six private bedrooms. It is staffed 24/7 by an extraordinary team of nurses and aides. Hospice care is provided by members of Parmenter VNA's Wayside Hospice program. The Residence is located in Traditions Assisted Living, next to conservation land and opens onto a beautiful Healing Garden.
The Parlin Hospice Residence is a jewel in our own backyards. Awareness of the benefits of hospice care is growing and more people are accessing hospice services. Just so, there is usually a waiting list for individuals who are in need of one of these special bedrooms and the exceptional care at the end of lifes journey. March 08, 2008 — Best Practice Achievement Award of Distinction
Fazzi Associates/National Patient Satisfaction Benchmark System has announced that Parmenter has earned the Best Practice Achievement Award of Distinction saying saying "The Award of Distinction is presented to home care organizations that have demonstrated a superior performance in patient satisfaction."
April 07, 2007 — Perfect Survey
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Public Health surveys Visiting Nurse Associations annually. In 2007, the Department awarded Parmenter a Perfect Survey.

The National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization reports the following Hospice Patient Satisfaction Score:
100% of families would recommend Wayside Hospice to others
100% response to evenings and weekend needs
100% on providing information to family/client
100% on coordination of care indicators
