In-Home Hospice Care

Hospice is Special Care for patients facing end of life issues.
It is a unique kind of health care focusing on the person, not the disease. It provides physical, emotional, social and spiritual support for patients with a terminal diagnosis and their families. Wayside Hospice has a long-standing history of service to local communities.

In-Home Hospice Care

A part of Parmenter Community Health since 1992, Wayside Hospice has a long-standing history of service to local communities, and offers a number of special benefits to its patients:
An Experienced Hospice Team — Our staff brings years of experience to the art of caring for the terminally ill. The communities we serve recognize us as a superior hospice provider, with special expertise in pain management and symptom control.
Continuity of Care — The homecare/hospice care connection means that Wayside Hospice patients enjoy the important benefit of continuity of care. The same nurse and aide who care for a patient in the earlier stages of illness can follow this patient through the final stages of living—working hand-in-hand with other members of the hospice team who introduce specialized care for the entire family.

The Miriam Boyd Parlin Residence

The Hospice Residence, located at Traditions of Wayland, provides a local alternative to a hospital or a nursing home. When persons are unable to remain in their own home, the Hospice Residence offers a comfortable, home-like atmosphere where patients can spend their final days surrounded by their families and caring health professionals from Wayside Hospice.
